i heart the new miu miu ads.

Hannah Holman, Ilda Lindqvist, Mimmi Soderstrom, Victoria Tuaz and Whitney Coble are the new faces for Miu Miu Fall 2009. Shot by Mert and Marcus and probably my favorite ads this season. They shows the clothes, the accessories and in a sublime way and shot in one we haven't seen in a while, fading away most of the colours, but still clear and very strong. Love them all! x

all i want.

All I want is something I don't know.

Or maybe it is  something I can't say.

All I want is a hidden fairytale.

To have it all, the next minute, the next day.

All I want is to go back, to where I smile, to where I sleep.

I have no clue how to keep up, to keep it down, to keep fit-in

All I want and all I know is what I feel and what I dream.

But maybe I'm not from this year, nor the last or the one near.

All I want is not to know, what will not fit, what will not last, what will not be.

Beyond it all and through my eyes, there’s so much more I need to see.

All I want is to express what I have in mind, to place them out, to set them free.

I'm stuck, I'm trapped, wrapped around, the in-between chapter, lost in me.

All I want, I can’t have yet, I can’t taste now, I can’t do till,

The next chapter will let me find out.; I hope that’s soon, that something will.

anna wintour on letterman.

I've already seen The September Issue and it's a good one. Nothing too much, nothing too crazy, very enjoyable, tumbs up. I actually think it's a great documentary, as it will reach out to so many people; it's understandable, it's fashionable, it's a good balance of the real world and the one we call fashion.

Plus we all kind a have to love Anna. In the end she's simply a petit madame who's looking smashing, remains the bob and adores fashion and all her talent.

UPDATE!

If only I was in New York again..

from blonde to brunette.

Lara Stone By Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott for Vogue Paris September Issue 2009.

If you know me, you know I'm not down with this Lara Stone hype. Ofcourse I can see she's sublime, unique, gorgeous and very sexy. But I don't go wow when she walks the runway and I dislike the vamp she became. So. When I see a cover like this, eventhough she had an entire issue dedicated to and about her just a few months ago, I do smile. I think turning her into a sexy, powerfull and gorgeous brunette who plays, looks beyond sexy and is a name we all know and haven't seen, meaning her, looking like this before. Tumbs up to Carine. I guess that's why there's only on Carine and you have to love her. - Right Piersten, ha.

Tumbs up. The cover is exactly what we need. Eyecatching, without screaming for attention. Some wouldn't even see it's Lara. And to put her on the cover again, nothing wrong with that. I hope more women will follow this look, very classy. Love it! On to the next season, the shows are around the corner and I can't can't wait! x

a touch of black.

I don't have the money to buy it all, but if I did, tomorrow's look would be this. Then ofcourse, I don't fit women-shoes but I surely will try the rest, ha. Maybe I should come up with a line of my own. In that way I never have to think about what to wear and I'm sure there are plenty of guys around who would die for the boots in the mens-mens-sizes.

Oh well. From top to bottom; Acne, Maison Martin Margiela, Etro, Osman Yousefzada, Jonathan Saunders, Balenciaga, Ann Demeulemeester and Maison Martin Margiela.

The new issue of Blend is out and hits the stores by Monday I guess. In the issue you'll find one of the stories I did in New York; the one with the amazing Lindsey Wixson. I truly fell in love with her, as she's great to work with, so young and so so unique. And as I came up with the idea to give her red hair, Tetsu handmade her a red wig which took over eight hours, but the result is to die for.

I'm very happy seeing the photos in print. Above I posted a few of the bunch.

Such a great team, such a great day. I can't wait to be back! x

harper's bazaar kills the september issue.

From top to bottom:

US HARPER'S BAZAAR September 2009 Issue

The September Issues are popping out and I think Harper's Bazaar is killing the others. Their US edition is beyond. I can't find the editorial with Naomi, but she's having fun with monkey, riding animals and running with others, the issue shows supermodels and you can tell!

Or, as shown above, supermodels with no makeup. Beauty that may not be 2009, or maybe it's just very 2009 in a way, a weird way. I think it's beautiful how a magazine can show two sides of fashion, the personal pure one and the high-fashion more extreme aswell. Not crossing borders, only pushing them.

And with Natalia on the UK issue. Plus, the size of the issue, go check! The Harper's Bazaar, I have to see part of the Vogue ones, but.. so far these two are on top. Beyond sublime, j'adore!

Oh and yes, I do think the Leighton Meester and Agyness Deyn covers for the US edition aren't the best picks. I also think the Agyness as Michael Jackson story, which is styled in a massive way, should belong in i-D or Dazed. Not in Harper's Bazaar.

interview week.

'Dutch-born Sonny Groo has perfected the art of assimilating the latest in fashion and making it his own. Never too trendy and always cultured, his style is so refined that you could throw everything up in the air that he owns and however it lands, the combination would work. He is extremely thoughtful and intelligent in his approach to making the changing tides of fashion work for him, without being a slave to the industry’s mecurial and possibly bankrupting temperament. For starters, everything is uncomplicated in black and white. There are the prototypal handmade black boots with the small heel that he wears with almost everything, whose shape is a subtle perfection of classic and cool and that he buys every year. He is a master of recreating the of-the-moment drapey pant for close to pennies, by wrapping obese-sized thrift shop trousers across his body and pinning others to create a sense of cascading folded couture artistry. Sonny is so sensitized to maintaining elegance (always at a small cost), that when he goes for something potentially gender-bending, he keeps it 007 polished, by choosing a black leather skirt, layered over pants, under the quintessential aristocratic trench and accented with shiny driving gloves. Sonny’s signature Lanvin glasses, that are both forward and timeless in their oversized appearance, are probably what tell the most about him, as he always wears them and they always work.' - Elisa Goodkind

The other day I met Elisa Goodkind after she called me to feature my style on her website Style Like U. We had a fun talk, I brought a bunch of clothes and she filmed and snapped away. It was good meeting someone who may not be one of today's young kids, but still has the love for what she does and takes this to the next level, by using internet, film, etc.

Reading the text and seeing the video, and my sublime way of talking bad-English, ha, I can only smile, thanks Elisa. Oh and for the photos and vid, please check out her website or click here

The same week JC Report also put me online as one of today's trendwatchers, read the full feature here. And HOMMEBOY kicked in with a small something as well, very kind, very lovely. Read the interview here.

Thanks guys!

It has been a while I came across a story that has it all. Fresh faces, good styling, nice location, sublime photography, etc. In a way it's not crossing any borders, it's not overstyled or has topmodels in it, etc.

In the end, this story is simply about two girls. Wearing no colour, almost no clothing either, ha, but when they do wear some, it's in a simple way, nothing many other magazines couldn't pull off. And that balance, that what makes it to me a sublime story. And it is one, because what they do, you tell me. <3.
